Brigadier W P Kariyawasam assumed duties as the Centre Commandant of the Regimental Centre Sri Lanka Armoured Corps on 06 August 2021 at the Regimental Headquarters, Rock House Camp.
The day’s proceedings were commenced with the Guard Turn Out accorded to the newly appointed Centre Commandant at the main entrance to the Rock House Camp. Subsequently, the arriving Centre Commandant was welcomed by the Commander Armoured Brigade, Commanding Officers of the Regiments and staff officers of the Regimental Centre.
Upon his arrival, he made religious offerings before members of the Maha Sangha commenced chanting to invoke blessings on the new office. While chanting was in progress, Brigadier Priyantha Kariyawasam left his signature for an official document to signify the acceptance of his new office. The day’s proceedings also included the official address to all Ranks and followed by a tree planting.
