ARMY HEIGHTS VISITED THE CAVALRYMEN\'S DOMAIN

It was marked as a remarkable day to the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps on 18th March 2016 due an official first visit of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Crishanthe De Silva to the Rock House camp premises.\r\n \r\nHe was warmly welcomed to the camp premises following traditional military customs by Major General Milinda Peiris, the Chief of Staff Army and the Colonel Commandant of the SLAC. Then the Commander of the Army was honoured with a formal guard turn out and the guard of honour by the troops from all units of SLAC.\r\n\r\nAfterwards, group of officers, led by Brigadier D T Gamage psc, the Centre Commandant conducted the presentation on evolution, expansion, achievements, ongoing projects and the future event plans of the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps to the visiting Army Commander.\r\n\r\nThen the Commander of the Army addressed the officers and Other Ranks separately and emphasise the discipline of Soldiers and future programme of the benefiting soldiers. Then the army heights visited the under constructing rugby ground and the pavilion.\r\n\r\nHe made the day memorable in history of Sri Lanka Armoured Corps by planting a tree and he was received an elegant memento by the Chief of Staff army and the Colonel Commandant of SLAC, Major General Milinda Peiris amidst respectful gathering of SLAC officers at the New Cavalry Officers’ Mess. \r\n \r\nMaj Gen Nandana Udawatta, Maj Gen Aruna Perera, Brig R G U Rajapaksha RSP psc, the Armoured Brigade Commander and several other senior officers, officers and other ranks were at the event.\r\n
