Whither the Fates Call

Sri Lanka Armoured Corps paid tribute to the memory of fallen War Heroes at the War Heroes monument at Kalattewa on 27 November 2022 before the commemoration of the forthcoming Corps Day. Major General D B S N Bothota RWP RSP USP psc, Military Secretary and the Colonel Commandant SLAC graced the event as the Chief Guest together with several senior officers.

At the outset, Colonel Commandant was welcomed by Brigadier W P Kariyawasam, Commander Armoured Brigade and Brigadier P N Wijesiriwardena RSP USP, Centre Commandant SLAC at the entrance. Later the day’s Chief Guest flanked by several senior officers and family members of fallen war heroes made their way to the monument and saluted their memory by placing floral wreaths. At the end of the day’s event, the Colonel Commandant shared a few views with those family members.

28 Officers and 415 Other Ranks of the SLAC paid their supreme sacrifice on behalf of the nation before May 2009.
