Annual General Meeting of the Armour Ladies Club was held on 17th March at the Auditorium, Home of Armour with the participation of a 62 spouses of cavalry officers.
Mrs Sheromi Liyanage, President of the Armour Ladies Club, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and she was warmly welcomed by the Vice president Mrs Krishni Ranasinghe together with Secretary Mrs Priyanthi Sooriyabandara offering a bouquet of flowers on her arrival.
After lightning the traditional oil lamp, two minute silence was observed in memory of all fallen War Heroes, followed by the recital of Army Sewa Vanitha song was taken place.Delivering the welcome speech, Mrs Sheromi Liyanage stressed the importance of maintaining commitment to a highest level by ladies in achieving best results from the mandated job.
Afterwards, Mrs Saritha Silva was elected as the new Coordinator and Mrs Ruchirani Wijedasa was elected as the new Secretary while Mrs Dulashi Meepagala was reelected unanimously as Treasurer.
The event became fruitful with the lectures conducted by the Mrs Wasanthi Rajapaksha, senior member of the Armour Ladies Club Cum Psychological consultant at Brandix, and Mrs Jeewamali Parera, Senior Lecturer of National Productivity Secretariat. At the end of the programme 10 dry ration packs were distributed among the civilian workers. Before conclude the event Mrs Priyanthi Sooriyabandara proposed the vote of thanks afterwards all ladies appeared for the group photograph prior to the lunch.
