In a thrilling finals with the 4 Armoured Regiment, 5th Reconnaissance Regiment clinched the inter unit Basketball Championship 2024 at the Basketball Court, Rock House Camp on 27 March 2024.
Major General S W M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Commander Security Forces (West) and the Colonel Commandant SLAC, graced the event as the Chief Guest.
The tournament which commenced on 26 March 2024, featured six competitive teams. The 4 SLAC emerged as the 1st Runner Up while the 2nd Runners Up position was secured by 3 SLAC.
Furthermore, in accordance with the guidance of the Commander of the Army, coinciding with the award ceremony, Rs 30,000 was donated to L/Cpl Madusanka J D D G, to encourage and appreciate his international and national level achievements in the field of Kabaddi.
