4 ARMOURED REGIMENT EQUIPPED WITH AN AUDITORIUM AND A TACTICAL AND TECHNICAL TRAINING ARENA

Adding more facilities to the 4 Armoured Regiment, the Commander SF (West) and the Colonel Commandant SLAC, Major General SWM Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc ceremonially declared open the Auditorium and Tactical and Technical Training Arena of the 4 AR on 02 April 2024 at Clappenburg.

The new Auditorium will provide a comfortable training environment to the troops of 4 AR and visiting delegations from various tri-service establishments. The auditorium has a seating capacity for 200.

A new initiative; the Tactical and Technical Training Arena will serve the vital objective of transforming operational and Technical experiences and knowledge to the younger generations of the Army and the Armored Corps. It consists of an Operational History Briefing Area, a fully equipped Model Room and an Operational Activity Briefing Area.

During the troop address the Colonel Commandant highlighted the significance of having such an important asset to ensure the hard earned knowledge and experiences are shared with the future generations of the Army. He also stressed the importance of constant training, professional grooming of the members of the SLAC and advised the audience on various timely aspects such as maintaining discipline, living a balanced life, managing financial expenses etc.

Along with the Chief Guest, Major General PAM Peiris RSP USP psc - GOC 22 Infantry Division, Center Commandant - SLAC, Armoured Brigade Commander and few other Senior Officers along with the members of the 4 AR attended the event.

The event terminated with an all ranks tea party.
