The 3 Armoured Regiment made history with its first-ever Unit Symposium on 18 January 2024, focusing on "Contemporary Challenges, Innovations, and Capability Enhancement of Armour." Maj Gen S W M Fernando WWV RWP RSP VSV USP ndc psc, Commander Security Forces (West) and the Colonel Commandant of SLAC, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Maj Gen P R Pathiravithana USAWC psc delivered the keynote speech.
Sessions, chaired by Col D M G K H De Silva psc and Lt Col P G I L Perera RSP, covered topics such as Capability and Readiness, Contemporary Challenges, Case Studies, and Innovation & growth.
Council members including Centre Commandant and Commander, Armoured Brigade, participated to the programme. The session was culminated with an interactive session and lunch at the Officers' Mess.
