After a 52-year wait, the Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) returned to the spotlight at the Inter-Regiment Snooker & Billiards Tournament, reaching the final and securing a memorable runner-up finish. The 2025 campaign combined strong team resilience with outstanding individual brilliance and gave fans a tournament to remember.
Long-awaited return to the finals
The Signal Corps’ appearance in the 2025 final was their first since 1973, ending a decades-long absence from the title match. The path to the final was hard-fought: following tense knockout matches and a dramatic battle with Gamunu Watch and the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps, the Signal Corps emerged to claim a place in the final against the Engineer Services Regiment (ESR).
In a closely contested championship match the ESR edged out the Signal Corps to lift the trophy, but the Signal Corps team won widespread admiration for their fighting spirit, sportsmanship, and the pride they brought back to their regiment.
