School of Signals has organized a workshop for middle grade officers who are in the ranks of Major and Captain in order to refresh and enhance their knowledge. The workshop was started on 25 March and conducted till 27 March at 5 SLSC, Menerigama. Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps and Chief Signal Officer Sri Lanka Army Major General P A J Peiris ndu made the opening address and the three days workshop commenced as scheduled.
A wide range of subjects were covered during the workshop including responsibilities of middle grade signal officers, latest developments and trends in ICT, signal officer career development, responsibilities and functions of OCSO, RR network and exchanges used in Sri Lanka Army, cyber security and current implication within the Army, leadership building, data network of Sri Lanka Army, latest software introduced by directorate of IT. The panel of lecturers consisted of senior officers of the corps as well as executive officers of Huawei Technologies Company Ltd. The lecture on satellite communication was conducted by Mr. Ishan Madusanka Chandrasiri an electronics engineer in electronics & air navigation engineering division, Airport and Aviation services Sri Lanka (Pvt) Limited.
Finally, the closing address was delivered by the Commandant School of Signals and the workshop was concluded successfully.
