5th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps proudly commemorated their 27th Anniversary on 02nd January 2021 at the Regiment’s premises in Menerigama, Padukka.
Commencing the day’s proceedings, troops rendered a ceremonial Guard Turnout to the Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel D M I S Bandara SLSC on his arrival at the main entrance.
After the guard turnout Commanding Officer sat for a group photograph which was followed by planting of sapling. Then Commanding Officer participated for an all Ranks lunch which was held at the newly constructed ORs’ Mess.
Addressing the troops at the end of the formal lunch, Commanding Officer emphasized the importance of understanding the role and tasks of the Regiment and responsibility and necessity of becoming technically sound Signalers with professional competency to work efficiently in practical scenarios. He further stressed upon the requirement of maintaining militarized discipline all the time and creating a synchronized working environment that facilitate to be efficient in all conditions.
At evening an Inter Squadron Cricket Tournament was organized on same day. Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel D M I S Bandara SLSC graced the finals as the Chief Guest. The championship of the cricket tournament was won by the HQ Squadron.
