3rd Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps celebrated the 70th Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army by conducting an amiable programme of events during the morning hours on 10th October 2019.
The day’s programme started in front of the Regiment’s premises in Palaly early in the morning by offering Kola Kenda (Herbal Porridge) to Army troops who are going on physical training along the road from Vasavilan to T-junction.
The formal session started at 0830 hrs as the Commanding Officer Lt Col NPA Mendis psc SLSC hoisted the Army Flag before the parade of troops as well as civilian servants of the unit and sang together the Army Song with full of pride as the members of the Sri Lanka Army. Then Commanding Officer spelled out the message released on the occasion of the 70th Anniversary by the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army and conducted a project of planting Kohomba and Jack saplings inside the camp.
