MUAYTHAI SEMINAR CONDUCTED SUCCESSFULLY AT 4TH SIGNAL REGIMENT

With the approval of Ministry of Defence and the Directorate of Sports of the Sri Lanka Army, the Muaythai Committee of Sri Lanka Army successfully conducted a 3 x days residential seminar from 21 July 2018 to 24 July 2018 at the 4^th Signal Regiment, Anuradhapura that was carriedout by Arjan Pedro Solana who is a veteran in this sport with the fullest support of Lieutenant Colonel Priyanka Perera (Arjan), the trainer in Sri Lanka Army.

Nearly 200 interested Army personnel belong to various martial arts such as Muaythai, Wushu , Karte (many variations) and Takewondo actively taken part in the programme whereas they were given a great opportunity to feel main segment of the martial art including following areas.

Sport Muaythai - Combat sport of Thailand, practice in world wide.

Mauy Boran - Martial art aspects.

Muay Kotchasan - Elephant techniques specially designed for King’s close protection.

Muay Chaya - South Thailand martial art and best for less than arm distance fighting .

Muaythai Sangha Art - Arjan Pedro Solana creation. Combined Muaythai and Muay Chaya together (Arm distance and less than arm distance together).
