Quarterly Officers Training Day of the Corps of Signals for the 2nd Quarter of the year 2018 was held at the Signal Regimental Centre on 28 June 2018. The training programme started with an introductory Yoga session that was held at the main auditorium from 0600 hrs to 0700 hrs. As per the programme of the day, after the group breakfast at the Officers’ Mess till 0730 hrs, a period was allocated for all the young officers who were present to practice essential Sward Drills.
Progressing with the main focused event of the day, an active session on “Super change in greater success for life and professionalism” was conducted by a renowned Personality Development Trainer Dr Kuma Iddamallena at the Main Auditorium from 1030 hrs to 1300 hrs. Followed by the Training Day Lunch, another awareness session was conducted by Lt Col Subhash Karunarathne representing the Military Secretary’s Branch of the Army Headquarters on ‘Writing and Evaluation of Annual Confidential Reports of Officers”.
After the officers’ collective recreations held in the evening, as the last event of the day, the Diners’ Club was held at the Signal Regimental Officers’ Mess from 1930 hrs onward. Distinguished lecturer from the Kotelawala Defence University, Mr Sanath de Silva addressed the audience delivering an educative speech on ‘Trends on US – North Korea Relations’ that grabbed the attention of the crowd in their obtainable knowledge on the field of present day concerns on the subject.
The programme was assigned to 10 SLSC for its organizing and conducting as directed by the Signal Regimental Centre. The Chief Signal Officer Major General Nilantha Hettiarachchi and a considerable number of senior officers and officers enthusiastically participated the whole day programme.
