“Build up Military Career on Strong Pillars of Commitment, Knowledge, Loyalty and Discipline” – Colonel Commandant SLSC.

“Consider Commitment, Knowledge, Loyalty and Discipline are strong pillars and build up your career on that strong structure”, said Major General Ajith Wijesinghe USP ndu psc, Military Secretary of Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant Corps of Signals, addressing the audience of Officer Instructors of School of Signals and Officers who just completed their Mid-Career Course (MCC) No 04 during the closing address of MCC 04 on 12th January 2019.

Maj Gen Ajith Wijesinghe who paid an official visit to the School was received on his arrival by the Commandant Colonel Imal Assalaratchi USP psc and guided him to the Mercury Hall where the day’s main function took place. After addressing the MCC Officers and distributing certificates to them, he met all Officers and a section of Other Ranks at tea where he inquired about their views and further requirements they face when training programmes are being conducted.

Then, the Colonel Commandant during his address to the troops reiterated that School is responsible for not only providing professional knowledge to its trainees but also infusing positive attitudes towards duties of the Corps and the Army as a whole. Later, he visited the Communication Lab where a team of instructors from Indian Army is conducting a training programme for Young Officers of Sri Lanka Signal Corps. This Lab donated by the Government of India was declared open by General Bipin Rawat, Chief of Indian Army Staff on 15th May 2018.

An evening get-together and dinner hosted in honour of the visiting General held at School’s Officers Mess culminated the programme.
