VISITS OF THE REGIMENTAL CENTRE COMMANDANT TO SIGNAL UNITS

The Regimental Centre Commandant of the Corps of Signals, Brigadier P A J Peiris made his official visits to the Signal Regiments. The visits were taken place from 14th to 16th August 2017 as the second segment of the initial visits to the Signals establishments located away from the Signals premises in Panagoda.

On 14th August 2017, Centre Commandant visited 52 Infantry Division training School at Widaththapalei to inspect 3 SLSC ongoing Battalion Training and then to the unit Headquarters at Palaly. Then the visit to 9 SLSC at Kilinochchi and the Radio Relay (RR) Station cum Ranaviru Information Technology Training Institute (RITTI) at Kokavil were taken place on 15th August 2017. As the final destination of the programme, Centre Commandant visited 4 SLSC at Anuradhapura on 16th August 2017.

The day's events at the each place was conducted with the subsequent events of formalities such as awarding of Guard Turnout, briefing by the Commanding Officer, unit-line visit, addressing All Ranks, tree planting etc followed by courtesy feast with All Ranks.

During the troops addressed held at all places, Regimental Centre Commandant explained intentions of the present Commander of the Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Signals. Especially he emphasized on the imperative requirements on training of officers, SNCOs and NCOs, welfare facilities available for soldiers, breach of discipline by the Army soldiers whilst stressing upon the present trend of soldiers involving in anti-social drug dealings. He also further explained the importance of the sports and other collective activities at different levels, based on which the achievement always derive a balanced life in each individual while keeping the good name of the Corps of Signals very high.
