TROOPS BID FAREWELL TO RETIRING BRIGADIER AR OBEYSEKERA

Troops of Sri Lanka Signal Corps bid farewell for Brigadier AR Obeysekera on 15 September 2022 on his retirement after having counted more than 33 years of illustrious service in the Sri Lanka Army.

The ceremony formally held in keeping with military traditions at the SLSC Regimental Headquarters premises in Panagoda.

Day’s proceedings started with the ceremonial Guard Turnout which was followed with paying obeisance to the fallen SLSC war heroes at the Regimental Monument.

Subsequently Brigadier AR Obeysekera had a courtesy call on with the Chief Signal Officer Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Major General HMLD Herath RSP USP psc and joined to a tea party in the lobby of RHQ SLSC.

Then, Brigadier AR Obeysekera penned compliments and good wishes in the visitors' book and he departed from Regimental Headquarters with the wishes of Senior Officers, the Officers and all Other Rankers of the regiment.

Finally, the formalities of the day were culminated by a farewell dinner at the Officers' Mess.
