SVB–SLSC EXTENDS SUPPORT TO A FAMILY IN NEED

The Seva Vanitha Branch of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SVB–SLSC) organized a heartfelt donation programme on 10 July 2025, reaffirming its unwavering commitment to the welfare of service personnel, Civilian employees and their families.

This benevolent initiative was aimed at supporting the wife of a civil waiter attached to the 10th Sri Lanka Signal Corps, who is currently receiving treatment for abdominal cancer at Apeksha Hospital, Maharagama. Recognizing the emotional and financial strain faced by the family, the SVB–SLSC provided both financial and material assistance to help ease their burden during this difficult time.

This effort was initiated and personally supported by Mrs. Ayesha Liyanage, President of the Signal Seva Vanitha Branch, who promptly identified the family's need for assistance. She extended both financial aid and moral support, reflecting her deep sense of compassion and leadership. A few senior members of the SVB–SLSC also accompanied the president during the hospital visit to express solidarity and offer encouragement. In addition, the group also took time to personally inquire about the patient's condition and extend heartfelt words of encouragement.

This act of kindness reflects the values of empathy, solidarity, and community care that continue to shape the objective of the SVB-SLSC, strengthening its role as a pillar of support within the military community.
