SRI LANKA SIGNAL CORPS REGIMENTAL HEADQUARTERS FELICITATES NEWLY PROMOTED MAJOR GENERAL CP ARANGALLA psc

Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) rejoiced on 22 February 2024, as they commemorated the promotion of Major General CP Arangalla psc. The Regimental Headquarters became a hub of honor and festivity as military formalities blended with heartfelt gestures.

Brigadier SJKD Jayawardena USP psc, Center Commandant of SLSC, commenced the event by extending a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, Major General Chandana Arangalla, setting the tone with a Guard Turnout, a symbol of military honor and respect. Major General Arangalla then paid tribute to fallen SLSC War Heroes through a solemn wreath-laying ceremony at the War Heroes' monument, underscoring the Corps' unwavering dedication and respect for its fallen comrades.

The highlight of the event was the Guard of Honour, orchestrated in honor of Major General Chandana Arangalla, followed by a special salute from the Parade Commander's dais. The day's protagonist also engaged in a cordial exchange during a courtesy call with Major General IHMRK Herath USP ndc psc, the Chief Signal Officer of the Sri Lanka Army, and the Colonel Commandant of SLSC.

In a poignant addition to the day's proceedings, a sapling was planted by Major General Arangalla, symbolising growth, renewal, and the Corps' commitment to environmental sustainability.

The celebratory spirit continued with a collective lunch at the officers' mess, fostering camaraderie among newly promoted senior officers and esteemed comrades. The event concluded on a high note, leaving an indelible mark on the annals of SLSC history.
