Sri Lanka Signal Corps Bids Farewell to 24th Regimental Sergeant Major

Warrant Officer 1 K.A.D.N. Karunarathna USP, the 24th Regimental Sergeant Major (RSM) of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps, retired from active service on 12 June 2025, after 22 years of dedicated service to the Corps and the Sri Lanka Army.

In appreciation of his outstanding contribution, the Signal Regimental Headquarters held a farewell parade in his honour, followed by an All Ranks tea at the Corporals’ Club of the Signal Regimental Centre. The event was attended by other ranks from across various Signal Regiments, including those currently stationed at the Panagoda Cantonment.

As a symbolic gesture marking the end of his military service, WO 1 Karunarathna planted a sapling, commemorating his long and distinguished career. Later that evening, a farewell gathering was hosted at the Sri Lanka Signal Corps Warrant Officers’ and Sergeants’ Mess to honour the retiring RSM and celebrate his service.
