\"Bak-Maha-Ulela 2015\" (New Year Festival) organized by the Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) with the co-ordination of SLSC Seva Vanitha Unit was held on Wednesday 08 May 2015 amidst a large gathering of SLSC Senior Officers, disabled war-heroes, members of the corps and members of the Signal Seva Vanitha Unit along with their loving families.
Major General SAPP Samarasinghe RSP USP psc, the Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps graced the occasion as the Chief Guest with the presence of Chief Signal Officer Maj Gen KRP Rowel RWP USP ndu psc.
The variety of traditional folk-games and fun-making events such as bun eating, the best laugh, fancy dress competition, musical chairs, cross country races, slow movement cycling, tug of war, pillow-fighting, marathon races, balancing games, hurdle runs, spotting the elephants\' eye, Hitting the pot, weaving Coconut leaves etc. Events specially organized for the disable soldiers such as wheel chair competition and the 75 meters run were attracted the audience. And also Corps of Signal did not forget the support extended by the civilian staff attached to the Corps. Special events such as 100m race and mini-obstacle race were organized exclusively for them and all civilian staff members awarded with an \"Aluth Awurudhu\" gift. At the climax of the event Awurudhu-Kumari Pageant and the Awaurudhu-Kumara Pageant grabbed the attention of entire mass. S/285156 Sgm(W) Maheshika TLP was crowned as the Awurudhu-Kumari 2015 and S/285054 Sgm Madhushanka WGM was emerged Awurudhu-Kumara 2015.
A huge gathering of senior officers, other ranks and well-wishers witnessed the days event. Awurudhu Celebrations came into an end with a colorful musical night in the evening.
