SIGNALS SEVA VANITHA BRANCH CONSTRUCTS A NEW HOUSE FOR LATE SOLDIER’S FAMILY

Following a conceptual guidance given by Mrs Sujeewa Nelson, President, Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) and Mrs. Sajeewani Peiris, the Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLSC-SVB) actively contributed to construct a new house for late soldier’s family.

S/279704 S/Sgt Deshappriya RGSK (Late) belongs to 1st Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps who served under the Army Seva Vanitha Branch and passed away due to a Heart attack on 06 June 2021. On a request made by his wife to Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU) for a new house, provided funds along with fundings of Signal Seva Vanitha branch (SLSC – SVB) to construct the new house with the guidance of Sajeewani Peiris, the Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLSC-SVB) and 2 (V) SLSC carried out the task.

On Friday (03 June 2022), a simple ceremony, headed by the Chairperson of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps Seva Vanitha Branch (SLSC-SVB), Mrs Sajeewani Peries and Commanding Officer of 2nd (Volunteer) Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps Lt Col Buddhika Udage USP formally vested the house to the legitimate owner.

Maj Gen KAWS Ratnayake ndu Commander FMA (East) Members of the Army who technically assisted the completion of the project, house occupants and villagers took part in the brief ceremony.
