SIGNAL OFFICERS\' ADVENTURE EVENT OF THE YEAR 2016
As directed by the Army Headquarters and as a part of the Annual Training Programme of the Corps of Signals, the officers\' Annual Adventure Event was successfully held on 04th December 2016 at the \'Sinharaja\' Rainforest Reserve in Kudawa area.
The team of 155 officers and family members headed by the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Signals Maj Gen K R P Rowel RWP USP ndu psc briskly settled off along a rolling trail of nearly 5 km through the rainforest. This event was commenced from the morning briefing about \"Sinharaja Rainforest\" conducted by Forest Officer, Mr Kapila Ariyarathne. Throughout the expedition that started from the Kudawa Entrance of the Raiforest, Mr Ariyarathne continuously explained and imparted information about bio diversity and endemic species of flora and fauna unique to Sinharaja area. After the tracking, all participants were given an opportunity to relax themselves at a naturally clear brook. The programme of the day was winded up with a country styled field lunch.
