‘Mercury Clubhouse’ complex affiliated to 5 SLSC at Menerigama, Padukka was declared opened by the Colonel Commandant to fulfil a long felt need for the Corps of Signals.
Mercury Clubhouse complex consist of two Cottages, a Bar, a Dining Hall, Swimming Pool and Adventure Park. By that visitors could enjoy a relaxed day out with delicious meals and glamourous environment. This was inaugurated with the intention of Colonel Commandant himself as an extension of Army Welfare measures.
The day's programme culminated with lunch at Mercury Clubhouse dining area and he had left compliments in the visitors' book before he left 5 SLSC.
Senior Officers including Major General HMLD Herath RSP USP psc, Chief Signal Officer, Major General KAWS Rathnayake ndu, Commander FMA (East) and many senior officers were present at the event.
