THE NEWLY APPOINTED CENTRE COMMANDANT ASSUMES DUTIES

Brigadier SJKD Jayawardana USP psc assumed duties as the 22nd Centre Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps on 01st December 2023 at Signal Regimental Centre, Panagoda.

Brigadier Jagath Jayawardana upon his arrival at the premises, reviewed the Guard Turnout and paid tribute to the memory of Fallen War Heroes at the monument. Next, the newly appointed Centre Commandant symbolically placed his signature on an official document to mark the assuming of duties, amidst religious observances at his office.

Subsequently, setting out his scope of work and duties, Brigadier Kasun Adikari addressed troops serving in the Regimental Center and urged them to work with commitment and high standards of discipline. After posing a group photograph with the Regimental Centre Staff to add much more memories to the day, the senior officer attended to an all ranks' tea at the ORs' mess, where he made a brief interaction with the participants.Senior Officers/Officers and Other Ranks of Sri Lanka Signal Corps witnessed the series of ceremonials.

Brigadier Jagath Jayawardana before being appointed to this new appointment, served as the Brigadier Coord at the Office of Chief Signal Officer, Army Headquarters.
