The New Officers’ Mess of 5th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps Declared Open

Newly constructed officers’ mess of 5^th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps at Menerigama, Padukka was ceremonially opened by Maj Gen N M Hettiarachchi VSV USP psc Hdmc, Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps and the Chief Signal Officer. Brigadier P A J Peiris, Director Information Technology, Brigadier L S P Perera USP, Centre Commandant and Brigadier W L Premasiri USP, Commander Signal Brigade together with several Officers attended the event.

After giving a warm welcome to the chief guest by Lt Col P H N Chandrasekara, Commanding Officer 5 SLSC, he was invited to declare open the new complex after cutting a ribbon and unveiling a plaque. The new mess consists of Officers accommodation, a dining hall and a bar.

A guard turnout was accorded to Col Comdt on his arrival and subsequently he was invited to plant a ‘Na’ sapling at the new Officers' Mess premises which was followed by a troop address and an all ranks tea.
