MORE EVENTS TO MARK 82nd ANNIVERSARY OF SRI LANKA SIGNAL CORPS

The Corps of Signals awarded the Guard Turnout and the Ceremonial Parade to the Colonel Commandant followed by the traditional All Ranks Lunch that were held on 18 October 2025 in line with the 82nd Anniversary Celebrations. The formal procedures commenced with the Guard Turnout and the effusive ceremonial parade.

The Chief Signal Officer of the Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Signals, Major General GLSW Liyanage USP nps psc was received by Signal Regimental Centre Commandant Brigadier RC Wijekoon USP psc at the main entrance to the Signal Regimental Premises in Panagoda where the troops accorded him the ceremonial Guard Turnout. Then the Colonel Commandant reviewed the historical Regimental Parade of the 82nd Anniversary of the Corps of Signals at the Regimental Parade Square. The parade was commanded by Lt Col RMKUK Rathnayake USP SLSC, the Commanding Officer 9th Regiment SLSC.

Subsequently, All Ranks Lunch followed by a trophy awarding ceremony for top achievers in sports and for the best unit of the Corps was held with the participation of Colonel Commandant, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks representing all the Signals establishments. All championship winners from inter unit games in 2025 were awarded with respective trophies. 7 SLSC adjudged the best unit award out of 11 units of Sri Lanka Signal Corps. The event also spared time to appraise the service rendered by civil servants by awarding gifts. Later in the evening a customary Mess Night with the participation of 162 officers was held at the Regimental Officers' Mess, Panagoda.
