On 04 July 2025, the Regimental Centre of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps proudly hosted a distinguished event titled “Time with Legends”, bringing together the most senior living Signal Officer, retired Regimental Commanders, Colonel Commandants of Sri Lanka Signal Corps and serving officers especially junior officers for an evening dedicated to reflection, mentorship, and celebration of the Corps enduring legacy.
This event was conducted with the blessing of present Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG and under the guidance of present Colonel Commandant and Chief Signal Officer of Sri Lanka Army, Major General Sajith Liyanage USP nps psc.
The event began with a formal welcome extended by the present Colonel Commandant of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Major General GLSW Liyanage USP nps psc. Their presence served as a powerful reminder of the leadership, dedication, and vision that have shaped the Signal Corps over the decades.
To provide insight into the Corps continued growth and modernization, a comprehensive briefing on current developments and progress within the SLSC was delivered. This was followed by a guided camp tour, allowing the former leaders to witness the advancements in operational readiness, infrastructure, and technological capabilities now in place.
The evening concluded with a high tea at the Officers’ Mess, where bonds were reawakened, stories exchanged, and wisdom shared between the past and present leadership. For the junior officers in attendance, the opportunity to engage directly with these innovators of the Corps was both motivational and enlightening.
“Time with Legends” not only celebrated the proud traditions of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps but also reaffirmed the importance of intergenerational connection in building a resilient, forward-looking military force. It was a fitting tribute to the legacy of those who led before and a reminder of the high standards that continue to guide the Corps into the future.
