Corps of Signals won the "Best Band of the Year" and the "Best Band Master" in year 2013
Brass Band of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps won the 1st Place in the Inter Regiment Brass Band Competition 2013 confirming to it's two great achievements as the "Best Band of the Year" and the "Best Band Master", by competing with 20 Regimental Brass Bands in the Army. Warrant Officer II Udawatta A who is the present Band Master of the Brass Band of the Sri Lanka Signal Corps won the Best Band Master and lead his members to secure the place as the Best Brass Band of the Year.
The Awarding Ceremony for the winners of the Inter Regiment Brass Band Competition 2013 and the Inter Regiment Drill Competition 2013 was held under the patronage of the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General RMD Rathnayake WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc as the Chief Guest. In the same ceremony, Capt MABP Silva of the Corps of Signal won the prize for the 3rd Place of the "Best Commander" award of the Inter Regiment Drill Competition 2013 where he secured the third place by competing with 23 Drill Squads Commanders of other regiments. The whole ceremony was conducted melodiously and colourfully in the evening on 30 December 2013 at the Gymnasium of the Army Physical Training School, Army Cantonment, Panagoda with the participation of many senior officer of the Army and many other participants of Tri-services.
