CORPS OF SIGNALS HELD FELICITATION TO MAJOR GENERAL DAPN DEMATANPITIYA ndu psc AND MAJOR GENERAL HP SENEVIRATNE USP ndu

The Corps of Signals conducted a formal ceremony on 18^th September 2018 at the Signals Regimental Centre premises in felicitation of two senior officers who were promoted as Two Star Generals, Major General DAPN Dematanpitiya ndu psc and Major General HP Seneviratne USP ndu.

Signal Regimental Centre Commandant Brigadier LSP Perera USP firstly welcomed Major General DAPN Dematanpitiya ndu psc at the main entrance of the Corps of Signals where formal procedures commenced as troops awarded a Guard Turnout at 0830 hrs. Then he paid floral tribute before the Signals Monument in memory of fallen brave men of the Corps of Signals. Afterward he was awarded with an effusive Guard of Honour.

Then, at 0930 hrs, Signal Regimental Centre Commandant welcomed Major General HP Seneviratne USP ndu also at the main entrance of the Corps of Signals and conducted to the Guard Turnout awarded by troops that was followed by paying floral tribute before the Signals Monument in memory of fallen brave men of the Corps of Signals. Afterward he reviewed the Guard of Honour awarded by troops at the Regimental Parade Square.

Subsequently, both newly promoted senior officers attended a group photograph with Senior Signal Officers at the Officers Mess, planted saplings at the unit line, and attended Mid-day Tea with All Ranks at the main Auditorium and the special lunch at the Signal Officers Mess. Finally, the day’s programme was concluded as both newly promoted senior officers customarily presented mementos to the Signal Officers Mess that was received by the Colonel Commandant Major General BHMA Wijesinghe USP ndu psc.
