THE CORPS OF SIGNALS 76TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS – THE REMEMBRANCE CEREMONY AND THE RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES

The 76^th Anniversary celebrations of the Corps of Signals commenced with the Heroes Remembrance Ceremony held in the evening on 12 October 2019 at the Corps of Signals Monument located at Signals Regimental Centre Premises in Panagoda. The event was graced by the Colonel Commandant, Sri Lanka Signal Corps Maj Gen N M Hettiarachchi VSV USP psc Hdmc with the participation of serving and retired senior officers, members of the Signals Seva Vanitha Branch as well as parents, widows & children of the fallen heroes who made supreme sacrifice in hard earning the respectable peace in the beloved motherland.

The programme of the event started at 1630 hrs with the arrival of the Chief Guest and concluded with the "Retreat", managing military formalities followed by religious rituals and laying of flower wreaths by all participants. Nearly 200 families out of 272 deceased heroes attended the ceremony.
