THE CORPS OF SIGNALS 73RD ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS – THE REMEMBRANCE CEREMONY AND THE RELIGIOUS ACTIVITIES

The 73rd Anniversary celebrations of the Corps of Signals commenced with the Heroes Remembrance Ceremony held in the evening on 15 October 2016 at the Corps of Signals Monument located at Signals Regimental Centre Premises in Panagoda. The event was graced by the Colonel Commandant, Sri Lanka Signal Corps Maj Gen KRP Rowel RWP USP ndu psc with the participation of serving and retired senior officers, members of the Signals Seva Vanitha Branch as well as parents, widows & children of the fallen heroes who made supreme sacrifice in hard earning the respectable peace in the beloved motherland.

The programme of the event started at 1700 hrs with the arrival of the Chief Guest and concluded with the \"Retreat\", managing military formalities followed by religious rituals and laying of flower wreaths by all participants. Nearly 200 families out of 272 deceased heroes attended the ceremony and this Remembrance Ceremony was the Second event out of 7 consecutive main activities planned for the 73rd Anniversary in 2016.
