The Chief Signal Officer Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Major General PAJ Peiris ndu made his first official visit to School of Signals on 13 February 2021 after assuming duties.
Major General PAJ Peiris ndu was accorded a Guard Turnout at the entrance and warmly welcomed by the Commandant, School of Signals Col SJKD Jayawardena USP psc.
Then Commandant School of Signals delivered a comprehensive briefing, to the visited Colonel Commandant regarding all training matters, ongoing projects and future requirements of School of Signals.
Subsequently, the Colonel Commandant addressed the troops gathered in the Mercury Hall and he emphasized the process of gearing the ways and means of Sri Lanka Army Commander’s Conceptual notion of “ Way Forward Strategy 2020 – 2025 ” as the Corps of Signals. Further, he elaborated the method of steering the drive as per with the core values to uplift the training procedures at the School of Signals.
Afterwards, to make remembrance of his maiden visit to the School of Signals as the Colonel Commandant, he was presented a plaque by the Commandant School of Signals.
Then, he posed for a photograph with all the staff of the School of Signals before entertaining a tea with the all ranks at the Mercury Square. There, he shared couple of thoughts with student officers of Young Officers Course and Other Ranks.
Afterwards, he took time off to visit key places such as Trainee’s Accommodations, Lecture Halls, Telecommunication Lab, Kitchen and Other Ranks Mess at the School of Signals and visited ongoing construction sites in the School of Signals.
In order to mark the visit, Colonel Commandant planted a Mango sapling at the camp premises and the day's programme culminated the host of lunch at the Officers’ Mess.
Finally, he left compliments in the visitors' book before he left the school.
Senior Officers, Officers, Permanent Staff of the School of Signals and cross-section of trainees representing several ongoing courses were associated the occasion.
