COLONEL COMMANDANT MADE HIS FIRST VISIT TO SCHOOL OF SIGNALS

The Colonel Commandant of Corps of Signals and Commandant of Defence Services Command and Staff College, Major General DAPN Dematanpitiya ndu psc made his first visit to School of Signals on 18 September 2020.

The Colonel Commandant of Corps of Signals and Commandant of Defence Services Command and Staff College was accorded a drive pass at the entrance and warmly welcomed by the Commandant, School of Signals.

Subsequently, The Colonel Commandant of Corps of Signals and Commandant of Defence Services Command and Staff College addressed the troops and stressed the importance of the trainings pertinent to the field of modern Information Communication Technology as well as discipline of the Soldiers.

He also took time off to visit key places such as trainee’s accommodations, Lecture Halls, Kitchen and Other Ranks Mess at the school of Signal and visited ongoing graduates training programme. The day's simple programme culminated with all rank tea arrangement at the Mercury Square and in order to mark the visit, Colonel Commandant planted a Mango sapling at the camp premises and posed for a photograph with all the staff of the School of Signals.

Afterwards, the Commandant delivered a comprehensive briefing regarding ongoing projects and future requirements. Finally, he left compliments in the visitors' book before he left the school. Officers and other ranks participated in the occasion and memento was presented to Colonel Commandant to mark the event.
