COLONEL COMMANDANT CONDUCTED HIS MAIDEN VISIT TO 4 SLSC

The Chief Signal Officer of Sri Lanka Army and Colonel Commandant Sri Lanka Signal Corps, Major General PAJ Peiris ndu made his first official visit to 4 SLSC on 11 March 2021.

Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by the CO 4 SLSC and accorded with a Guard Turnout at the entrance. Then in order to mark the visit, Colonel Commandant planted a Mango sapling at the camp premises.

Subsequently, CO delivered a comprehensive briefing about the role and tasks of 4 SLSC, the prevailing situation of the SFHQ (W) AOR, Communication status of the AOR and ongoing projects and future requirements of the unit.

After the briefing Colonel Commandant addressed the troops and stressed the importance of the trainings pertinent to the field of modern Information Communication Technology as well as the importance of maintaining the discipline of the Soldiers.

He also took time to visit key places such as communication lab, ORs’ accommodations and Kitchen etc. The day's simple programme culminated with a tea at WOs’ and Sgts’ mess.

Finally, he left compliments in the visitors' book before the departure. Maximum number of Officers and Other Ranks participated to the occasion and a memento was also presented to the Colonel Commandant to mark the visit.
