ASSUMING DUTIES AS 9TH COLONEL COMMANDANT

Regimental Headquarter Sri Lanka Signal Corps organized a Guard Turnout followed by a Parade to Maj Gen SAPP Samarasinghe RSP USP psc on 22 May 2014 at the Signal Regimental Premises at Panagoda. This formal ceremony was held on the occasion of Maj Gen SAPP Samarasinghe RSP USP psc assuming duties as the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps. After taking over duties the new Colonel Commandant addressed the troops and all officers expressing his vision and mission. \r\nMaj Gen SAPP Samarasinghe RSP USP psc is the present Chief of Staff of the Sri Lanka Army. He was enlisted to the service on 28th April 1980 as an officer cadet and obtained training at then Officer Training School in India and was commissioned to the rank of Second Lieutenant on 15th December 1980. Since then, he has held almost all possible appointments in the Corps of Signal as well as many key appointments in the Army. At present Maj Gen SAPP Samarasinghe RSP USP psc is the senior most signaler among the serving officers in the Corps of Signal.\r\n
