7 SLSC TROOPS BID FAREWELL TO OUTGOING COMMANDING OFFICER

7th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps bid farewell to outgoing Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel MR Hameem USP on 21 February 2021 at Regimental Headquarters.

Outgoing Commanding Officer in conformity with military traditions was warmly welcomed by former Adjutant, Captain EAK Gamage and accorded a Guard Turnout on his arrival at the main entrance. Then he was invited to receive the salute in the Guard of Honour at the parade ground. There after he opened the Motor Transport Section, Machine Workshop and Tailor shop which constructed with the contribution of all ranks.

Subsequently, he addressed the troops at the new Corporals’ club and followed by book donation to new concept of library to unit which focus on the soldiers coming after leave and quarantined inside the unit. Then tea party arranged with all ranks at the same venue.

Thereafter he left memories by planting a sapling in front of the Commanding Officer’s Chalet to mark his final remarks in the unit as the Commanding Officer.

At the end of the days preceding Officer mess function was conducted and Second in Command Maj RMKU Rathnayake presented a memento in appreciating his exemplary service rendered to the 7th Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps during his tenure as Commanding Officer.
