3rd Signal Regiment successfully completed a comprehensive renovation of the residence of late S/Sgt Perera JK of 3SLSC that is located in Avissawella and Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel NPA Mendis psc SLSC handed over the renovated house back to the family of deceased S/Sgt in a brief function held at the venue on 29th July 2020.
Late S/Sgt Perera JK made his supreme sacrifice during a terrorist attack taken place in Vavuniya on 01 June 2006 whilst on the operational duties and since then, his spouse brought up daughter and son to date who are presently studying for GCE Advance Level examinations.
On the request of late S/Sgt’s spouse from 3SLSC to assist her in a complete renovation of the tattered house where they were living in, 3SLSC shouldered it as one of Quick Impact Projects that are launching to ensure well-being of the families of both living and deceased personal. Accordingly, 3SLSC commenced this project with the blessings and directions of the Colonel Commandant Major General DAPN Dematanpitiya psc ndu and with financial and other assistance from the Signal Regimental Centre and 11 SLSC. The project was completed achieving the utmost contentment of the residents within 9 days of short period.
