3 SLSC FORMALLY WELCOMED NEWLY APPOINTED COLONEL COMMANDANT OF THE CORPS OF SIGNALS

3^rd Signal Regiment formally welcomed the newly appointed Colonel Commandant of the Corps of Signals Major General Prabath Dematanpitiya ndu psc on 13^th March 2020 at the Regiment Headquarters in Palaly.

Upon the escorted arrival at the Main Entrance of the Regiment, Commanding Officer 3^rd Signal Regiment Lieutenant Colonel NPA Mendis psc SLSC received the Colonel Commandant and awarded the traditional ceremonial Guard Turnout of the unit, which was followed by paying floral tribute at the Regiment’s Monument. Then he was guided to the Commanding Officer’s Office through a line of reception by officers before the commanding Officer’s briefing held at the Library and Conference Room of the unit.

After the unit briefing, Colonel Commandant was conducted to the Other Ranks Mess for the troops address. A welcome note was delivered by the Commanding Officer and then Colonel Commandant delivered his formal Troops Address to the troops of 3^rd Signal Regiment upon the invitation of the Commanding Officer. In the same venue, Commanding Officer presented a Plaque to the Colonel Commandant in remarks of his first official visit to the Regiment as the Colonel Commandant that was followed by planting a sapling and the All Ranks Tea. Colonel Commandant also reviewed the existing standard of training and living conditions in the unit and penned his thoughts in the Visitors’ Book at the Officers Mess prior to departure.

Finally, Colonel Commandant participated the Regiment’s 31^st Anniversary Officers’ Get Together held at Hotel Jetwing Jaffna as the Chief Guest.
