2 (V) SLSC BADE A CUSTOMARY FAREWELL TO COLONEL COMMANDANT

2 (Volunteer) Regiment Sri Lanka Signal Corps bade a farewell to the Chief Signal Officer of Sri Lanka Army and the Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Signal Corps Major General N M Hettiarachchi VSV USP psc Hdmc on 15 and 16 February 2020 during his unit visit at 2(V) SLSC, Welikanda.

On 15 evening, Colonel Commandant was warmly welcomed by the Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel AAT Somaratne USP on behalf of Officers and Other Ranks of 2(V) SLSC. Initially, Colonel Commandant addressed all troops and during his speech he highlighted the importance of maintaining disciplinary behavior of a soldier while performing in their respective ranks.

Then the programme was followed by planting a sapling in front of the Regimental Headquarters to mark his final official unit visit. Thereafter, he participated in group photograph before joining with the prearranged all ranks evening tea party prior to the end of his first day of the visit.

As per the event lineup on 16 morning, Colonel Commandant was traditionally awarded a ceremonial Guard Turnout. Then he was accompanied by the Commanding Officer to renovated Officers’ Mess in order to pen his congratulatory note in visitors' book to mark his remarkable visit.
