The programme was held at the Battalion Headquarters of 1 SLEME, Panagoda, with the primary objective of enhancing the knowledge and practical skills of military drivers on proper vehicle maintenance and early identification of defects. The workshop also focused on minimizing traffic accidents, reducing unnecessary expenditure on vehicle repairs, and ensuring the efficient management of the Army’s vehicle fleet.

The Deputy Commander of Security Forces Headquarters (West) delivered the opening remarks, emphasizing the importance of understanding vehicle systems and warning indications, and highlighted that many traffic accidents and technical issues occur due to a lack of adequate knowledge.

A total of 18 Officers and 92 Other Ranks participated in the workshop, gaining valuable knowledge and practical guidance to ensure safer and more efficient vehicle operations within the formation. Logistic Commander SFHQ (West) and other Senior Officers also were present at the venue.
