BRIGADIER P M MUMMULLAGE RSP USP ASSUMES DUTIES AS THE 17TH COMMANDER OF THE FORMER 612 INFANTRY BRIGADE

Brigadier P M Mummullage RSP USP assumed duties as the 17th Brigade Commander of the former 612 Infantry Brigade (at present 143 Inf Bde) on 23 February 2026. The new commander was warmly welcomed with a ceremonial guard turnout presented by the troops of the 1 SLAPC.

To commemorate the occasion a group photograph and symbolic planting of a sapling were taken place. Brigade Commander subsequently addressed the troops emphasizing the importance of discipline and outlining his key expectations and the responsibilities associated with their duties.
