Troops of the 8th Battalion of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (8 SLSR) responded promptly to a sudden fire outbreak reported at Kochchipetti Kanda in Ruwanwella Divisional Secretariat area.
Upon receiving information about the incident, a team of 01 Officer and 30 Other Ranks from 8 SLSR was immediately deployed to the location to assist ongoing firefighting efforts. Acting with remarkable speed and coordination, the troops worked closely with civil authorities and local residents to control the spreading flames.
Through their timely intervention, disciplined efforts, and unwavering commitment, the troops successfully contained and completely extinguished the fire, preventing it from spreading to nearby areas and averting possible damages to property as well as the surrounding enviornment.
The swift response and professionalism displayed by the troops once again demonstrated the strong dedication of Sri Lanka Army to support and safe guard the nation.
