NEWLY APPOINTED COMMANDING OFFICER ASSUMES DUTIES

Major DC Rathnayaka, the newly appointed Commanding Officer (Officiating) ,Assumed duties on 29th December 2025 at Headquarters of the 2 nd (V) Bn the Gemunu Watch , Galle Fort Camp , with the military formalities.

The new Commanding Officer was honored with a Guard Turnout and warmly welcomed by All Ranks of the 2 nd (V) Bn the Gemunu Watch he formally accepted his new responsibilities by signing an official document admits a religious blessing.

He humbly extended his almost gratitude to all past Commanding Officer who contributed to uplifting the standards of the 2nd (V) Bn Gemunu Watch. The day’s Programmed Concluded with a Troop address and All Ranks tea party.
