COLONEL E A U A AMARASEKARA RSP ASSUMES DUTIES AS THE 7TH COMMANDER OF THE 573 INFANTRY BRIGADE

Colonel E A U A Amarasekara RSP assumed duties as the 7th Brigade Commander of the 573 Infantry Brigade on 01 January 2026. Upon his arrival the new Commander was warmly welcomed with a ceremonial Guard Turnout presented by the troops of the 2 (V) GW.

To commemorate the occasion a group photograph was taken followed by the symbolic planting of a sapling. Colonel E A U A Amarasekara RSP subsequently addressed the troops emphasizing the importance of discipline and outlining his key expectations and the responsibilities associated with their duties.
