DONATION TO NEXT-OF-KIN OF FALLEN WAR HEROES

Demonstrating continued compassion and respect for the families of fallen war heroes, a philanthropist donated Rs. 600,000.00 to the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP, ctf-ndu psc IG, in order to present the next-of-kin of the soldiers with gallantry awards who made great sacrifices during the active service.

As per the instructions of the Commander of the Army, under the direct supervision of Major General Vindana Kodithuwakku ndu, General Officer Commanding of the 57 Infantry Division distributed a sum of Rs. 200,000.00 to the next-of-kins of the following war heroes who were residents in 57 Infantry Division area on 07 November 2025.

Each family received Rs. 100,000.00, and the beneficiaries were as follows:

S/5G01421 Corporal Ranjith Premasiri WI RWP RSP (5 (V) GR) - Donation presented to his mother, Mrs. W.A.K. Fernando.

S/15296 Lance Corporal Senewiratne WIM (7 SLLI) - Donation presented to his mother, Mrs. R.A. Punchihami.

The event was conducted in a respectful and truthful manner, recognizing the exceptional bravery and sacrifices made for the motherland. The GOC appreciated their service and reiterated the Army’s unwavering commitment to support the families of fallen war heroes. Brigadier HHSPS De Silva RSP USP, Commander 571 Inf Bde, Commanding Officer 7 (V) GR and other Senior Officers participated for the event.
