In celebration of the 77th National Independence Day, the 6th Field Artillery Regiment and the 8th Battalion of the Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment organized community service projects to support elderly residents and children in need.
On 02nd and 04th February 2025, lunch was provided to 18 elderly residents and 10 staff members at the “Sevana” Elderly Home in Attanagalla, Kahatowita, as well as to 20 children and 4 staff members at “Isuru” Children’s Home.
Additionally, donations were made to enhance the well-being of both institutions. The elderly home received two iron beds, two plastic clothes containers, and essential hygiene items, while the children’s home was provided with stationeries.
This initiative was conducted in accordance with the vision of Major General K J N M P K Nawarathne RWP RSP ndu, the General Officer Commanding - 14 Infantry Division, under the guidance of Brigadier R R De S Dharmawickrama RSP, the Commander - 141 Infantry Brigade. The event was successfully organized and executed by Major N C Karunarathne RSP USP psc, Commanding Officer 6th Field Artillery Regiment, and Major Y D N De Silva RWP RSP, Commanding Officer 8th Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment, along with their troops.
