Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Commander Security Forces (West), made his inaugural visit to the 611 Infantry Brigade on October 25.
Upon arrival at the Brigade Headquarters, the visit began with a formal drive-past in his honor, followed by a warm reception from Major General W M P M Wijesooriya RWP RSP ndu, General Officer Commanding of the 57 Infantry Division, and Brigadier H D L S Perera RWP RSP, Commander of the 611 Infantry Brigade.
The agenda featured a comprehensive briefing by the Commander of the 611 Infantry Brigade, outlining the Brigade's role, assigned duties, current operational status, and progress of ongoing construction projects within the Area of Responsibility.
As part of a symbolic gesture to commemorate his visit, Major General Lanka Amarapala planted a sapling at the Brigade premises. Following this, he addressed the troops, emphasizing the importance of maintaining military discipline and upholding the code of honor. The Commander Security Forces (West) also inspected the site designated for the construction of the future Infantry Brigade Headquarters.
