Major General Lanka Amarapala RWP RSP ndc psc, Commander Security Forces (West), officially inaugurated a newly constructed house for a serving non-commissioned officer on October 25. The housewarming ceremony, held in Pusseldeniya, Atugoda, Damunupola, was graced by Major General Lanka Amarapala as the Chief Guest.
This project, conceptualized by the Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, Lieutenant General H.L.V.M. Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, reflects the Army’s commitment to supporting its personnel. As part of the 75th Anniversary celebrations of the Sri Lanka Army, troops from the 8th Battalion of the Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, under the leadership of Major General Lanka Amarapala, Commander Security Forces (West), completed the construction of the home for Lance Corporal H.P.H. Deshapriya and his family.
During the ceremony, Major General Lanka Amarapala officially handed over the key to the new home to the beneficiary amidst religious observances. This project was made possible through the generous financial contributions of local donors. Major General Lanka Amarapala expressed his appreciation to the project team for their strenuous efforts in completing the house within a short period.
Major General WMPM Wijesooriya RWP RSP ndu, the General Officer Commanding of 57 Infantry Division, Brigadier BPGK Balasooriya RSP psc, Brigadier General Staff of the Security Forces Headquarters (West), Brigadier H D L S Perera RWP RSP, the Commander of the 611 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier K L Munasinghe USP, the Brigadier Admin & Quartering of the Security Forces Headquarters (West), the Commanding Officer of 8 Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, Major S K L P K Silva RWP RSP USP, and troops from the 8 Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment participated in this ceremony.
