In commemoration of the 75th Army Day, a special program for the elderly was organized by the 10 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard at the Urban Elders and Children Home in Battaramulla on 10 October 2024.
Under the guidance of General Officer Commanding, Major General K A W N H Badaranayake USP, and the supervision of the Commander of the 144 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier M K D P Mapalagama psc, the Commanding Officer and troops of the 10 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard provided lunch for 111 elderly personnel and 4 children, having entertained them with an exclusive musical program.
In addition, stationery was distributed among the children for their academic purpose, and medicines were donated to the elderly. This program was carried out with the participation of the Senior Staff Officer of 144 Infantry Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel S M S Bandara RSP, the Commanding Officer of 10 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard, Major S B J C Semasinghe and 35 Other Ranks.
