Coincide with the customary training day program of 61 Infantry Division, the lectures on ''Military Literature'' and ''the Proud Soldier'' were conducted by Lieutenant Colonel Sujith Chaminda Edirisinghe, the Chief Editor of ''Ranaviruwa'' magazine, and Major H M S H Bandara Lsc MIC of the Directorate of Psychological Operations on Wednesday (16) at the lecture hall of 61 Infantry Division.
The program was lined up under the conceptual guidance of General Officer Commanding of 61 Infantry Division, Brigadier K T P De Silva RSP ndu psc and supervision of the Colonel General Staff of 61 Infantry Division, Colonel H W M A C Fernando RSP.
Imparting the Officers and Other Ranks of the Division on absenteeism and illegal activities of soldiers such as money laundering, robberies, and drug trafficking, Major H M S H Bandara Lsc made the first move of the training session of the day, delivering his lecture under the timely needed topic of ''the Proud Soldier’’. Afterwards, underscoring the battle experiences and supreme sacrifices of Sri Lankan war heroes during the three-decade long conflict in Sri Lanka, Lieutenant Colonel Sujith Chaminda Edirisinghe delivered an interesting lecture with a rich of information found in his researches under the topic of ''Military Literature’’.
The training programe was attended by 10 Officers and 175 Other Ranks, together with Colonel General Staff, Staff Officer 1 (Admin and quartering), Civil Affairs Officer, Staff Officers from 61 Infantry Division.
